About

Leslie Gleim is a Honolulu-based fine art photographer known for her distinctive visual narratives created through aerial and macro perspectives. Her ongoing work seeks to understand the complex relationships and tensions between the natural, climatic, and human impacts upon the Hawaiian ʻāina (land). With a particular focus on the volcanic ecology of Hawai’i, she captures the regenerative and dynamic process shaped by volcanic activity and explores the profound changes created by those powerful forces on the ʻāina. By documenting this delicate balance between natural and human influences, she hopes to inspire and provoke thoughtful dialogue about environmental stewardship of our planet.

Leslie’s work has been widely exhibited and published locally, nationally, and internationally. Her work “Life of the Land” was recently acquired by the Art in Public Places Collection of the Hawai’i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.

Creating a “newsletter” has been a long-term goal of mine and with the revamp of my website now complete it feels like the perfect time to bring this vision to life!

Otherwise I would have waited until 2025, but why wait when the opportunity is now?

The purpose of the newsletter is to provide quarterly updates on what’s happening in my photographic world. This could include a sneak peek into new projects, details about upcoming exhibitions or shows, recent or upcoming charter adventures via helicopter, or behind-the-scenes stories about the photograph(s).

I’d appreciate your patience as this newsletter takes shape. It will be an evolving collaborative adventure, organically unfolding over time.

January is shaping up to be a busy month, and I’m excited about the possibilities it holds! Come along with me, signup to join me in this new adventure!

Stay tuned for more updates as the month and year unfold.  Here’s to a fantastic 2024!
